Are there any spa photo galleries of individual owners on the board? Sorry if this has been covered already but I could not find it using the "search". It would be pretty nice to see photos of individual spa setups. Thanks!

Mr drewski:
Pictures look great, great timing for piper glen pictures. MY piper glen will be delivered tomorrow afternoon. It going to sit on a deck that wraps around my family room, but because of the weather the only part of deck that is complete is the hot tub area. I will take pictures tommorow and post.

There a few VBers posting here....I live over in Haygood myself.
Did you drive all the way down to the OBX to get that Artesian? When I was shopping that was the closest dealer I found. I thought the road trip to Great Bridge for my Sundance was bad enough. ;D
-
Naaa, they weren't around in 1999. The dealer then was Sea Breeze Pools and Spas and they went bust in 2002.
BTW, I'm the house behind the model home in Towne Square at Windsor Oaks and Independence...
See Ya!

How does one do what PPOL did by posting a picture in the actual post?
(sorry for the dumb question)

First he posted it on a website. In this case the picture is located at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v219/nodonovan/ours2.jpg
If you click on the link it will take you to that picture. If you put the picture location inside of brackets using {img} and {/img} But use [ and ] instead, it comes out lilke this.

Doc,
Your wooden tub looks lovely. I cannot deny that for looks I really prefer wooden, but for practical purposes I am buying a Caldera Niagara.
Question:
Your pic shows the tub up against the house (I think). I am going to place my tub about 2 feet from my house & so far I have found no problems, code restrictions or otherwise. Any problems that you know of?
Thanks,
Sunny
-
My tub, is 16" from the side of the house. There's no national codes on distance from the house, however there very well may be local codes by your city / county / municipality that say other wise.
-
you are going to love your niagra. i've had mine for almost 6 weeks now, and its been great! i dont know of any code restrictions as far as placement. my last tub was only about 1 ft from the side of the house so i could take advantage of a small porch overhang. my new one is going to be 3 1/2 ft from the house as the gap will be decked and there will be a new back door into the house. new tub is already in place and working but the addition to the house wont be done till july. house is currently 10 ft away from the tub deck.as there currently is no door where one will be, it has made for a quick dash to the nearest door (20' away) on the chilly nights we have had recently..... will post some pics myself once the forms are gone and it looks more "presentable"....

Though I'm no Drewski or Jonathan when it comes to backyard decorating, location does have its intrigue. Check out my MasterSpas LSX (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/brdhd/album?.dir=e8c7&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos). Enjoy! 8)

stunning view!
must be a blast to sit and soak, and watch the boat traffic go by.......

Gee WSD, thanks for the compliment!
BTW, how 'bout that SNOW?
How ya been P?

Your no slouch as a photographer though. :) I'd be embarrased to show anything of my backyard other than the spa.

Doc, do you have a cover you just slide back onto the back part, and took it off for the picture? Or do you sell one brand of cover and buy another :)

What do you mean? It's right there in the picture. I am an excellent cover manufacturer and after many years of research have invented an extraordinary method to make covers so light and fine that they look invisible. As a matter of fact it is invisible to anyone who is too stupid and incompetent to appreciate it's quality.
(an excerpt from http://www.deoxy.org/emperors.htm)
naa, just took it off for the picture. It's pretty small as my tub is an oval 4'x5', so I don't need a lifter. Also, I get to test all the weird and bazaar ideas I come up with for improvements.
Normally I take the cover off and lean it up next to the upper deck to the left.

I bet you get a lot of girls with that!!!

You read my contribution to Drewski's "God Help me" thread?

You may want to check out your municipal building codes covering the requirements for safety glass. There are minimum distances for pools, tubs, showers, etc. away from standard non-tempered glass. (If you install too close to an exterior window)
If you have a locking cover on the spa, I think that exempts you from all the "barrier" codes pertaining to pools. Ask your inspector.

I read it. I guess you did pick up at least 5 women...

It's even better when they come by and trade grouper filets for a soak in the tub (after they've cleaned up a bit, of course ;))

Yeah....that was WAAY cool for VB. I've got some memories of snow in Hampton as a kid but not many.
Been doin' great....sealing the deck now and it's a chore! And of course windsurfing in the spring winds which are the best around here.

Thanks....that means a lot coming from you....I know you have an eye for the sky....with every clear night tub soak lately, I've seen many satellites and shooting stars. Just last night I scored a hat trick sighting--shooting star, satellite and iridium flare--way cool.

Are any of you lucky (and current) spa owners going to post more pictures? I really LOVE seeing pictures of spas that look like they belong to "normal" folks.
The spa photos on spa mfgs' website are too fantasy oriented for me (spa on deck overlooking crashing surf, that kind of thing). Please lets have more photos of spas sitting in more typical back yards.
A big thank you to those who have already posted pictures - everything looks wonderful. I can't wait to finish our project and be able to post my own pics.
;D
-
As soon as my patio stone around the tub is finished I will post a pic or two.
-
Since I started this thread, I will surely post a picture of my Sundance Majesta spa once installed by the end of this month ;D. My spa will sit in a sunroom that overlooks the backyard. We tore out the old spa this weekend! Now that was a lot of fun!!!!!
