Looking at the HS Vista myself. What did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking? This is a great site! :)

I paid $7647.90 That included Cover lift, some cheap plastic steps dealer through in, and sales tax. Does not have ozone. The HS dealer had the Vista on sale tub only for $8299.00 plus tax. I told him that I really wanted the coleman 706 that I wet tested. So he droped the price on the Vista to $7215.00 + tax.  He did say he would add the FreshWater Ozone system for $ 300.00

The Vista is an 2005 model they just got in. I thought that was a great price. So I bought it on the spot when he made me that deal.

Hi That seems like a real good price for a 2005 Vista. Our HS dealer quoted us 9280.00 Inc tax, ozone ,(freswater III) ,cover & lift II,  delivery,  setup, chem. kit. for a 2005 ENVOY (Smaller tub). $7647.00 for a Vista seems real good!! Our dealer said a Vista is 10500.00 out the door. Where are you located and what dealer sold you that?? I want to go there!! Thanks Jim

I'm in Parkersburg, WV   The dealer is  Faulkner Hearth & Home.  I really do not know which lift I have.  I thought it was a great deal.  He will come back and install the FreshWater III ozone for $300 Would someone please let me know if I should add the ozone? Do keep in mind they had this tub on sale for $8299.  I let the the dealer know I really wanted the coleman 706 so I guess he made me a great deal so I would not go else where. If any one is intrested the the coleman 706 was $7999 + tax no lift. I talked them down to $6999 + tax no lift. I really liked the coleman,  but wife liked the HS Vista.  Now that the Vista is up and running it is a very nice tub. The Coleman was also a very nice tub.  ::)

Hi I am going to get ozone when I get mine. I think it will help to keep the water clear and use less chemicals.   Good luck

Thanks, I'm going to call my HS dealer today to order the ozone. I got what I beleve to be a great price, so with the ozone I will only have about $7950 in my HS Vista. I just love it. I don't no how I lived with out. Funny thing is it the only one I did not wet test. I would not advice buying with out wet testing, but it worked out for us and we could not be happer. If I could just get out of it long enough to go to work. Again thanks for all the help  :D :D

that's less than I usually charge - be sure they include your first "Ag+ Silver Ion water purifier cartridge."

Chas, thanks again for your help. When they set up my tub they put in the silver ion cartridge. Can the ozone be put in without draining my hot tub? ???

Hi Chas, Is the silver ion part of the ozone package or a extra charge?? How important is the silver ion cartridge with well water with a water softner? The salesperson said it is not needed and will not work correctly with well water. He said to many minerals will attach to the silver and make it useless.

jsimo7, My dealer told me to bypass my water softer when they filled my tub. I also read in the manual not to use soft water.

I have very hard water and thus have a water softener.  HS does say that you can add 25% softened water.  Since my outdoor faucet bypasses the softener, I use it to fill the tub most of the way and then add softened (hot) water from an indoor faucet.  Not only reduces the calcium level but the heating time as well.

I also use ozone and silver-ion in my HS Envoy.  No significant water problems to date (except keeping the Ph low).

THANKS FOR THE INFO ON SOFT WATER I NEED TO LOOK AT MY SOFTNER TO SEE IF I CAN BYPASS IT
MY DEALER SAID NO PROBLEM TO USE SOFT WATER
DO YOU USE THE PRE FILTER FROM HOT SPRINGS? I PLAN TO USE THAT THING

This is a direct quote out of my HS manual                      (" IMPORTANT Watkins Manufacturing Corporation does not recommend that the spa be filled with softned water, as this may damage the spa's equipment" ) I don't know but that is what the manual says.

Your dealer needs to call the factory - or they may have told you to go ahead and fill with soft water, but raise the calcium hardness level immediately with a chem.

The factory does say not to fill with soft water.

I ordered my FreshWater III today. Funny thing is my dealer said  he can't tell any difference in tub with ozone or without. Said he thought it was a waste of money. This is a dealer that has been around a long time. I ordered the ozone anyway.

What do the experts on this site think about ozone . Is it a important option, and about how much per year or per month does it save on chemicals??

I'm chime in for the semi-experts. I'm a big ozone fan because I see many spas and can DEFINITELY tell that in general spas with ozone are much clearer when I get out to them (not all of course as anyone can screw up the water if they try just right).

However, I do not look at ozone as a way to reduce chemicals or save money. To me its usefulness should be looked at in terms of greatly improving your chances of keeping the water clean/clear as the more work it does the less work chlorine will have to do but you don’t want to start reducing your chlorine too much or you're right back where you started.

Also, I would recommend spending a bit extra to get a good CD ozonator. The UV types put out far less ozone and require a costly bulb change every 18 months or so (whether its still illuminating or not). Also, some CD types require a chip change every xx number of hours. Find out what type they are looking to sell you.
