To all out there, I'm having a problem with my 2004 Optima and need your advice. I have noticed over the past few weeks that I have been 'building up resistance' to my water temperature. So I simply turned up the heat. To make a long story short, the water didn't get any warmer. I'm now set at 104 and a check with a thermometer reads 99. Is there anything I can try or check before I call for service? Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks,
Cack

Make sure your not in economy mode. you want standard .

You may have a flow problem, so make sure your filters are clean. If the Micro-Clean cartridge hasn’t been replaced in over 3 months I would recommend replacing it.

Most spas nowadays have a summer mode, make sure it's not in that mode. That can have a great influence on how well a spa not only heats up but also how well it maintains temperature.

Maybe you should rely on the high tech computer system instead of the 89 cent plastic thermometer. ;D
Only kidding, definately check your Micro Clean filter, if it hasn't been replaced over the last 3 months, replace it.
To check to see if that is it, remove your filter completely, make sure the spa is on standard, check the spa one hour later, see if the temp goes up. If so, replace the Micro filter.
Best of luck. ;D

Is your circ pump running? If not, I don't think your heater will activate. If it is running, is the "heat" icon on the control panel lit when your water temperature is 99 but your spa is set for 104?
Is your spa holding at 99?

Was it 99 or 98.6? Was the thermometer directly in the water?
