Title: Romance isn't dead....
Post by: East_TX_Spa on June 27, 2006, 11:53:19 am

Today is my 13th year of marriage to Giant Ball of Hate.  Since I have always been a romantic at heart, I didn't tell her "Happy anniversary!" this morning and she thinks I probably forgot about it.  Instead, I went to Albertson's and got her a card, some flowers, and a really neat rock tumbler so that I can make her some jewelry.

I've got a softball game at 8:30 tonight so I will have to take her someplace where we can eat quickly so my food will have time to digest before the game, probably Magic China or Lotus Inn.

I hope she's excited, but she'll probably want to cuddle or some crap like that.

Way to go dude! With regards to the rock tumbler and the jewlery....... break up a beer bottle and throw it in. You can make some really pretty "beach glass" for jewelry

Looks like I've got another role model besides H.Heffner to pattern myself after.

Cool!  I already made her a really nice set of dinner glasses with my Ronco Jar and Glass Cutter for our 3rd anniversary.  I'll bust up a Shiner Bock bottle and try your idea.  Thanks!

I'm glad you pointed that out.  I went and added a "1" to the front of it.  Thanks!

Hey Term, hope she appreciates the rock tumbler...You're right you can make some really cool jewlery but be sure to place that thing somewhere that you don't hear it grinding round and round...I put ours in the garage...Congratulations she's a lucky lady...and you too...your a lucky guy..If my husband told me my Butt was as big as the Gulf...I'd be tumbling some other rocks! ;D

Congratz, Chas.  But I bet you didn't need the reminder.
Congratz as well to Terminator.

We just passed our 22nd year anniversary this past February.

You're right. I don't need a reminder. The past few weeks has made me realize even more the amazing blessing that God has given me in the form of my family.

My wife is the reason I haven't given up years ago. Every time things get tough we go through it together, grow together, laugh together - and I can't ask for more than that.

By the way - I have lost 15 pounds in the past three weeks, and I'm doing it so I can stick around and enjoy my family until I'm old enough to be a burdon to my kids. So. I was thinking about buying 15 pounds of fat and wrapping it as a gift - what d'ya think?

No Chas, unless you are feeding it to the birds and you and your wife enjoy the beauty of nature. (my husband and I do...)

Congratulations on your 15 lbs., you did that not only for you, but for your whole family...I am sure they are not only proud of you  but also thankful that you are working toward improving your  health..believe me NO one wants to be a burden to their children...Hang around and be an inspiration  ;) God bless you and keep up the good work!
