Title: Thermo Spas?
Post by: hottubber on February 05, 2005, 12:47:22 pm
Does anyone have an unbiased opinion of this product line?
I haven't seen or heard from them in quite some time.
There is no showroom, no local service,  no place to see or WET TEST a spa, yet there are still customers purchasing this product, thinking that this is the "cream of the crop" spa.
So, my original question was,... Does anyone have an opinion on this line of spas? ???

Do a search on them to find feedback from people who've owned them. I've seen less than positive feedback relative to cost, quality and service but you need to hear that from someone who's actually owned one.

Cut and paste any of these links into your browser and you will get an idea of the dissatisfaction out there. You can find as many positives on the web but my point is that they have more complaints on the internet than any other company you can search.

I would hesitate to by from anyone that did not have a brick and morter store that I could visit and negotiate face to face with the spa I was interested in.

What is an unbiased *opinion* ??

Do you mean does someone have a hypothesis about the thermospa line, constructed scientifically based on agreed upon standards of engineering and construction?

:)

I would very very interested in knowing what made current thermo-spa customers purchase their thermo-spa tubs.

That's what I'm looking for. People who had purchased this brand, what made you decide on one of these, happy or not happy with the overall quality of the product? If you were to buy another spa, would you buy another Thermo Spa?  ???

I know 2 people who bought Thermospas at a "show". I think they bought ones that were scratched and/or blemished. I know one of them paid about $3,000 for his and I think the other a little more. They bought them about 3 years ago.

One of them got an extended warranty, the other did not. I have tried to help the one without the warranty repair a problem (Maybe I'm becoming a Spa Tech too ;D) and the folks at Balboa were great!

Both love their tubs but both have had some issues - the one with the extended warranty has had a couple of service calls taken care of and the other had an ozonator failure and seems to think he has some kind of leak -> no warranty - no service help from Thermospa.

I also know a couple of people who tried to get Thermospas to come in, either no show and no call or the high pressure sales tactic.

Originally, I was thinking of going that route (going to a show) myself - $3,000 for a pretty well equipped tub is awfully cheap but after seeing what happened and reading about Thermospas I decided to buy from a dealer.

The few I have seen struck me as being rather middlin' quality. If you can get it for a middlin' price.....

The customers I have helped all paid very high prices. They could have chosen from any of the top brands and had money left over for a vacation.
