My wife tried tonight, took a dip in the snow but couldn't take it.  Ran back to the spa to warm up.   Spent about 2 hours in the spa, trying out the new echo one system.

So for so good, seems a lot less dry.

Update tomorrow.

I just got back from Duluth, which isn't really that near Brainerd, but close enough, and nobody said things like, Yah, you betcha.  I didn't even see any Uhf-Dah sweatshirts.

I actually liked the movie, except for the title.  Fargo was only in the movie for about 2 minutes.

I have a business associate that took an extended tour through the former soviet union several years back. He told me of a custom that I think is quite prevalent (and this relates to saunas, not spas) where after toasting for long enough where you can't stand it any more, you run out and jump into the nearest snow drift and roll around. I'd guess it would have to be at relatively moderate temps otherwise things might freeze off.

Any of ya'll crazy northerners do something similar?

You know, the Northern Native Americans (I lived with the Spokane Tribe for a while) use to build sweat lodges.  The men (women weren't allowed) sat in the steamy heat for a while and meditated.  Then, they would run outside and jump in a snow bank.  They say it cleanses the skin of impurities!

I just thought it was funny!

that loud pop you hear is the sound of their pores all snapping shut at the exact same time.....

There have to be better ways to spend your free time.

How exactly did this get on life's to do list anyway?

It was just added to the mental list years ago, right after Try Curling.   So that's 2 for this year.   Being involved in a roll over crash was not on my list in case you were going to ask.   Buy a hot tub got added about 10 years ago.    Being in my 40s and with a short attention span, I guess the list can be whatever I want and vary from hour to hour. :)

We got snow here three days ago. I tried to do this and failed.... The littel snow there was melted and I was rolling around in the dirt (not enough snow on the ground)... Had to go inside and rinse off or risk getting dirt in my tub... :-[

thank the spa gods it's the arms and legs getting used tomake snow angels....'cause anything else would be too small huh!

And that ladies and gentlemen is how you determine how cold it is outside of the tub.  ;D
