Title: I feel sorry for you warm climate types
Post by: wmccall on January 22, 2005, 12:11:12 pm
Sure you can get in a hot tub and it feels good, but you can't shovel snow and ice on your driveway for two hours when the blower won't start and then get in your hot tub and talk to your neighbor just as he starts shoveling his.  "You missed a spot!"

Oh, another accesory for your tub, and eye cup for rinsing out your eyes. A big gust of wind got me as I was dumping in the MPS.  Rinsed right out, no long term problem.

Will try to dig out the tub for tonight ;D

Bill you are right it is tough being here in the Sunshine and 70's today.....In fact it is so bad that some of my friends drove 45 minutes up to the mountains to do some snow boarding while some other "poor saps" I know went down to the beach to do some surfing as some big waves are rolling in...it is a horrible situation to be.... ;)

Being a former Ohioan, I can sympathize with you Bill.

Hmmmm.... whatever possessed me to move to sunny Las Vegas?

(oh yeah, that's right, I just have to read your email again... that answers it!  ;) )

Y'know what I really miss?  I really miss the times when I was using the snow thrower, and a gust of wind came along and blew the snow into my face.  Ah, a good cold *SMACK* right between the eyes.  Yeah,  I miss that... sure!   ;)

It's so humid down here in southwest Louisiana that there is no room in the air for the water to evaporate from the hot tub to, so it stays put.  ;)

Bill is too far north,  come to cincinnati (Milford).

Winter is finally here in the MPLS/St.Paul area.  We got about 6" of snow on Friday.  Despite my 3 hour commute home from work (usually less than 45 minutes), I am glad to see snow finally.  Top that off with a very rare power outage on Saturday, which was only for about an hour and didn't affect the spa.
Forcast for the next week is temps in the mid to upper 30's, so we should be in for some really nice spa temps.

I have mixed feelings.  I have lived in the Chicago area my whole life and agree that it is nice to sit in my hot tub when it is cold out.  But I must admit, when the wind is biting and I'm snow blowing my driveway for the 3rd time in one day.....  I do wonder why I am still here.

We only got about 3" out of that one ourselves, but last night's soak under clear skies at 4 degrees and no wind was great.

Ah Cleveland area got dumped on pretty good, 8-12 inches. Was fun tubbing in that.

WE got between 12 and 15 inches here in Philly and I made sure the first thing I dug out was the hot tub. ;)

Not during the NFC championship game I hope.  T.O. or not T.O. that is the question!

It snowed the day before the game here in Pennsylvania.
Super Bowl Predictions:
T.O. will be playing and the Eagles will be winning.  Any questions?  Didn’t think so…

If the Eagles are going to win the game they are going to have be able to do things that no other team has been able to do and that is beat Belichick after he has 2 weeks to get ready....is the Eagles offense better than the Rams were or the Colts....I don't see it....New England does not beat themselfs.....

No, the Eagle offense is not better than the Rams or Colts but at the same time McNabb is playing flawless and their offense is still good even if it isn't the Rams or Colts. But you have to look at both sides of the ball and Philly's defense is not just good, its very good, so you can't compare the Eagles to the Colts or Rams. They have a real chance as long as McNabb doesn't make mistakes and he hasn't been. His passing has been pinpoint, his scrambling ability helps his receivers get open and Westbrook is VERY underrated as both a runner and receiver. Certainly NE should be the favorite as they are the top team in the league IMO but Philly is the best team they will face this year.

I agree that Philly is a very good team....but I think being there for the first time will be tough on them as will the Patriots game prep.....I think it will be a good game.....But the Pats are going to very tough to beat.....I was actually pulling for the Colts...out of the AFC and hoping that Packers were coming out of the NFC.....

The Eagles soaked in a Hotspring Grandee at training camp at Lehigh.  Only the best for the best...

I heard CalSpas is sponsoring the Patriots with a couple free spas at their Jacksonville Super Bowl practice facility. Good thing Belichik has 2 weeks to game plan which one of his players will service them when they break down. He might as well put Troy Brown in charge of keeping them up and going since Brown has plenty of free time since he is only a WR, DB and KR.

They'll be lucky to get them to hold water, and if they do, they probably won't run long enough to get heated. ::)

Great weather here in California this past week. 70-80's in the Bay Area but a bit of the morning fog. Monterey posted temperatures in the 80's on the beach last week.

Snow, what's that? Isn't it that white cold stuff that looks so pretty on the mountains where you go skiing? :P

Warm climates? Beaches, palm trees, deep sea fishing in the Atlantic and watching the dolphins swim beside the boat, kicking back with a cool one by the swimming pool and playing tennis...

Nah...gimme the shoveling and chiping away at the ice on our sidewalk on our corner lot house that I just completed anytime! ::)

Key Largo was amazing but it's nice to be home... ;D

I was watching the Pittsburgh game and they almost got back in it but Cower took the chicken sh__ way out when he kicked that field goal on the 2 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  What was that pansy thinking?
They had a chance to make it a 7 point game and even if he didn't make it, NE has the ball on their 2.
No, they get the sure field goal and NE takes the kickoff to the 45 and proceeded to make a laugher out of it.

No Pittsburgh fan, but I despise the Patriots.  We (Raiders) will never forget the snow bowl where the refs took the game away from us and started this whole dynasty business.

With ya Rick, Rams fan here... right after the refs. screwed the Raiders, the Rams (or should I say the "genius" head coach Martz) played soft and let them win the Super Bowl, allowing them to do this dynasty crap.  OH the pain!  ;) ;D

As a Chicago Bears fan I feel the need to remind you all about the "stay on topic" rule.    :'(   ;)

The Chicago Bears: Shortest Dynasty in NFL history.  After the 46-10 beating in Super Bowl XX who'd uh thunk it that the Patriots would be so much better.

The fact that McNabb went to high school here makes me pull for the Eagles. ( hey, it's all I have )

Yeah.....looks like this year's Raiders helped you with your amazing Monday morning quarterbacking skills.... ;)

There was nothing "Monday morning" about my statement.  I was yelling at Cohwer as soon as he made that decision.   Did you here his crowd too?  They had to go to commercial the boos were so loud.
It was a typical, conservative, NFL head coach call that usually bites them in the end.
The game is about getting psycological advantages.   Pittsburgh was rolling, another touchdown, and they're back in it and NE is on it's heels.  Instead, he opts for the FG and gives NE the psycological advantage right back.   Cower was more worried that if NE stopped them on 4th and goal, that NE would gain this edge, but kicking the FG was just as good.
Thinking like that is reason why guys like Cowher will never win the big one.

rick,
Please accept my apologies for mistaking you for just another football know-it-all, Monday morning quarterbacking, hometeam fan extolling for booing their own team, flame throwing sports bulletin board junkie.....my bad.... :)
