Title: alterative sanitizers
Post by: yokeman on January 05, 2005, 09:20:15 pm
 :)happy new year to everyone.

i received a metal foam alterative sanitzer as a promotional. i have used the metal foam (tablet) in  the tub and was well pleased with the water quality.

now i'm interested in trying one of the enzyme based alteratives.

seems each supplier has a different product....eco-1, spa secert, spa genie, rain forest blue.

i do realize that a small amount  of potassium peroxymonosulfate is also needed with these.

i'm just wondering if someone might give a real life critique on the above mentioned products.

thanks.

I think that the reality of these products is to reduce the amount of sanitizer needed.

They tend to add a certain oiliness to the water, which makes your skin feel nice.

Some have pleasant fragrances as well.

None are sanitizers - some form of sanitizer must be used with each of these.

I know that last sentence goes against what the makers of these products might infer, but it's true.

Chas,

Do you have experience with any of these in a HS spa with ozinator?  My skin is very dry after the spa and thought these might be a way to combat that.  Very dry in my house in the winter so that isn't helping either.
