Title: Marquis Ozonator - Glow or no Glow
Post by: jaw on December 08, 2004, 07:09:49 am
Or, how to reset?

Mine has been replaced once.  I seem to recall the tech suggesting that there is an actual test to determine if it has failed or not.

I would like to run that test before calling service, if anyone can assist in telling me what/how to do it.

My ozonator does not glow as the original one did.

Thanks

There are a few ways Jaws you can do it...I would suggest you call Marquis and let them walk you though it...If you shut the power off and when you turn it back on..you get a pr code if you hit the settings button that will turn off and on the ozonator....you will hear a click  there is also a voltage test you can do....

Thanks, I will give them a call.

I just hate to have a service call (even though it's covered) for something that may be resolveable without a service call.

JAW buddy, how the heck are ya?!

Hey, your ozone on that year will only come on during a filter cycle and not immediate. Email Gary with your serial # and he will walk you through the cycle. If not PM me and I will get it for you.

You also will have a differant glow on the new unit as they changed plastics on the end caps.

Doing well, thanks.  You?  I will try to call/email them and get it taken care of.

Just on the off chance....are these ozonators prone to short lives?

The original one had a very strong glow - I could see it at night from the bedroom.

Now - I never see it, I understand that it will come on during a cleaning, but it is also to come on during the low power mode (or whatever it's called)!

Honestly, I have not seen this new (replaced) one ever glow - seems I have smelled the ozone but no glow. Hence the post.

Take care and thanks for the tips.

Your glow on the first one was a bright floressent blue, this one has a much thicker plastic with color in it but you should be able to see some glow during filter cycle at night with the door off.
