Title: Air Blowers 2
Post by: Chris_H on November 20, 2004, 02:42:51 pm
Hello Everyone,

Since I will not post on the "Air Blowers" thread.  I started a new thread.

So I went to my good friends store that just so happens to have a Grandee and an Optima next to each other.  The inside temperature in the building was 70 degrees.  I turned both of the spas on at 1:00 pm EST.  I ran both for 40 minutes.

On the Optima, I ran both therapy pumps, and the air blower.  I had the diverters set in the middle.  I also had all of the air going in the spa.  My starting temperature was 103 according to an electric thermometer.  My ending temperature after 40 minutes was 102.

On the Grandee, I ran both therapy pumps.  I had the diverters set in the middle and did not have the water fall on.  I also had all of the air going in the spa.  My starting temperature was 104 according to an electric thermometer.  My ending temperature after 40 minutes was 107 according to an electric thermometer.

Now I did an additional test on the Optima for an additional 40 minutes.  I ran the two therapy pumps with NO blower.  I had the diverters set in the middle.  I also had all of the air going in the spa.  My starting temperature was 102 according to an electric thermometer.  My ending temperature was 104 according to an electric thermometer.

Tell me what you think…

Chris H

It's obvious. Electric Thermometers are the best in the world!!

You'd be a fool to buy any less!

Other than that, it's about what I would have expected. I don't see anything about running just the blower alone with the heater on/off.

It not, "what is a themomoters?"

It's, "What ARE themomoters?"

This might not fit here or with what you were testing, but in the manual for the Jacuzzi brand says that if you run both pumps at full speed, the heater will not run unless you are using 60 amps.  The Hot Springs only requires 50A to run everything and still keep the heater going.

I thought about this as I read your post and you said you turned off the blowers and them the temp rose.
