Test for Dementia ??
Below are four (4) questions and a bonus question.
You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately. OK?
Let's find out just how clever you really are.
Ready? GO!!! (scroll down)
First Question:
You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?
Sitting
Try not to screw up in the next question.
To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for the first question.
I tried not to screw up the first question and that didn't help! How did you know how long I took on the first one? Do you have that ESP thing going again?
Second Question: If you overtake the last person, then you are...?
Still losing
You're not very good at this! Are you?
Still losing...
Third Question:
Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head only.
Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.
Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000.
Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000 Now add 10. What is the total?
Did you get 5000?
The correct answer is actually 4100.
Don't believe it? Check with your calculator! Today is definitely not your day. Maybe you will get the last question right?I got 4100 and I didn't use my calculator (I used someone else's) ;D
Fourth Question:
Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene,
3. Nini,
4. Nono.
What is the name of the fifth daughter?
Scroll down...
Answer: Nunu?
NO! Of course not.
Her name is Mary. Read the question again
I didn't find that funny, that's my sister's names!
Okay, now the bonus round:
There is a mute person who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing one's teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Now if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?
With Money! BTW, doesn't it depend on how strong of a tint he wants?
Okay, so I didn’t get them right, does that mean I’m demented?

I guess construction has closed the street in front of Chas' shop and things are really slow?

Saw this recently........
Count the number of "F's" in the following text:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...(see below for answer)
Managed it ?
Scroll down only after you have counted them, okay?

Wrong, there are 6 !!--no joke.
Read it again.
The reasoning behind it is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

ummmmmmmm, I counted 7
you missed the one in, "see below For answer"
-
Like a needed this test to realize I'm no Genius. At least it was an interesting way to be reminded.
-
Well, I got the answers wrong on the test, but I counted the Fs correctly. I'm smart enough not to ask THIS crowd what that means about me ;)
-
I got them all right, I wonder if there is a prize?

#2 was one of the more easy.........
if you overtake the last person, then you are simply in the race and have lapped the last racer.
-
Chas,
I got all but the math! I am too used to my 10-key at work!!! :D
Newtotubbing,
I counted all six. Probably all the proof reading I have had to do over the years! You would be amazed at how many times the simple words are the hardest to spell!!! :P
-
Bummer. I was going to award a thousand bucks to whoever got them all right.
Oh well.
;)

Oh well.
;)
But I did get them all right! See above...... :P
-
Be careful HotTubMan,
Do you really want a herd of bucks on your front lawn?
Hunting season is starting!
-
But I did get them all right! See above...... :P

Go to Mensa.org and try their "brain teasers". Some are basic but some get a bit tougher but they're fun.

I counted 5 the first time, so what does that make me? ???
A semi-rare genius? ;D

;D
The guy in school who copies off the genius' paper during a test.

Mensa! Man, my husband and I (when we were dating) used to sit at Friday's and play trivia against the local mensa chapter! We would beat them most nights! We had so much fun! He would get the history and I would get the entertainment, literature, and english!
*sigh* Too bad Friday's doesn't have trivia anymore, at least here!

I've taken their tests on line a couple times just for fun but I would never pay them to join. To me, joining Mensa simply means you've paid someone to vouch for the fact that you're smarter than the average person. Then again, paying someone to give you a card to vouch for your brilliance isn't so sharp IMO.
