My HS Vista in pearl was delivered on Monday 10/27 and the electrician came tonight, Wednesday to make the final hookup. Happiness at last. Now I have to wait for the tub to heat up. :o
Checked the water, added the chems, so far so good. 8)
10+ weeks of research, wet testing, planning, building......... I am one happy camper right now ;D

Congrats. Backyard looks great. That's an awesome shot of the tub at night.
-
Absolutely beautiful!!!
I have to say, when I first viewed the picture I thought it was just a cut and paste from the brochure....you should send that to HotSprings!!! And what a job you did on your backyard! I'm jealous!!!!!
Congratulations on the new tub and yard!
-
Beautiful! The fire pit is a winner, and those pictures are just like a brochure!
I gotta tell you, nothing looks as solid to me as a Hot Springs tub. I know I'm looking through the rose colored glasses of a Hot Springs owner (grandee) but darn, that Vista just brings a tear to my eye!

All I can add is, WOW!!! ::)
You should send that to HotSprings! They would probably use it in a brochure!
Congratulations!!!

I think I want to book a vacation in your yard..

Great work, much has been said about the pearl color and how the lights look with it, but your the first here to capture it on film.
-
Let me add my WOW to this. Great looking tub, view, layout. Just beautiful. That should give you lots of enjoyment through the years.
-
Jonathan,
What a great job--both with the tub and with the photos! Congrats! May the gods of Spatopia bless you with crystal clear water......

A picture is worth a 1000 words. Looks amazing.

Thanks to all of you for your kind works about the job and all of the advise and quality postings from everyone here on the board. I look forward to sticking around and ask/add to the questions and hope one day I will be qualified to help others as much as some of the anchors do around here (and you know who you are!). ;)
The tub is all heated up and when I get home from work tonight.......spa bliss. 8)
I do have a slight advantage with the photos, one of my other major hobbies is photography, not a pro yet but getting closer..... ::)
Here are some links to some of my work that I am proud of, all digital BTW, no more film for me.

Very very nice. These are the best pictures of the light platinum or pearl color shell with LED lights that I have seen. I have a different tub, but similar color and finish and it truely is beautiful at night. I'd post a picture but I made the mistake of having the tub up and running before I got the landscaping completed. HHmmmm, soak or do landscaping??????? So far the landscaping has come in second. Fire pit is nice, I have a similar one, wish it was up higher so we could gaze at it while soaking.

Isn't digital photography great? This one is taken from 400 yards away.

The original, full sized image has incredible detail.

Very nice.....enjoy your new spa.....

Its a 5 year old Sony FD91, the CCD part is low in terms of pixels/inch compared to today's cameras, but it has a 14X OPTICAL zoom. I don't think anyone matches that today.

wmccall,
Wow, you are like me a digital pioneer. I forget which Mavica was my first, but it would write files to a floppy diskette!
1+ mp I think, can't remember I had so many cameras since then. Now I mainly lug around a Canon 1DmkII pro SLR with all of the (heavy) extras!
:'(
Enjoy it.

You guys probably already know about this site, but it's a great resource for those of us trying to buy digital or upgrade to the newer stuff:

Jonathon,
Beautiful set up! What do you have under the patio blocks? What is the base? I just showed my husband your pictures and did the old, that would be nice to do here! Yours is truly a showpiece! I would like to get our 1 month old spa off our deck and I like the firepit on your patio.
Do you live in an area where you have to deal with snow?
Jan :)

wow!your whole set up looks great,at first i thaught i was looking at pictures from a brosure.great job!
-
Chas,
I post over at dpreview under the Canon 1D forum.
Very helpful site for what I like to do.
Just came back from 3 nights in Vermont of a photo trip. Very nice.
NHBEACON,
The base is called QP, quarry process, basically stone and stone dust very tightly compacted, over 12" for most of it due to the grade. Very sturdy and should have zero problems with the snow we get in NY.

All I can say is WOW
I have the copper colored Vista, and though its beautiful, it doesn't light up like that!!!
Very nice

I have been a pro photo/video journalist for the past 15 years and you pics are as good as anything I have ever produced. You should consider tuning professional (if that's what you want)

TalkCalgary,
Thanks for the major pat on the back ;D, that one will keep me going strong for quite awhile!
Going pro in NY is tough, either you do weddings, affairs and lose your weekends or you struggle against the other 60,000 pro photogs in NYC for commercial work. I am doing some commercial product shoots for websites but nothing major. I have a great job now and would like to switch when my kids are older and I retire from my day job.
Thanks.
Jonathan
