Title: Artesian Aladdin
Post by: jessopmn on May 07, 2020, 04:39:20 pm
Good evening,

I am the owner of an Artesian Aladdin spa, possibly an antique by today's standards, but hay it works! It has however developed a small leak on the coupling (union) to the pump outlet. Despite my best efforts I am struggling to find the correct replacement gasket for the union. The pipework and fitting appear to be 2.5" which I am advised is very unusual. The pump is an Executive PF-20-2n22x. To confuse matters when I search this pump the results suggest it has 2" fittings rather than 2.5". For the avoidance of doubt, it is the gasket that sits in union fitting at the end of the outlet pipe that I am trying to identify.

The tub is still full of water otherwise I would remove the offending item to aid identification.

Any advise on the specific seal that I need would be most appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to source one in the UK but it doesn't look promising.

Thanks in advance.

Marco

If the face of the pump is the same size as the side coupler then it is considered 2". If the face of the pump union is larger than the side union then it is 2.5" x 2". 2.5 x 2.5 is rare. Pump unions are usually black o-rings and fit into a groove in the union but I normally just use a 2" flat gasket type o-ring without the rib to fit in the groove. If you are still unsure just order both sizes as they are pretty cheap.

Heater union gasket here: https://castlehottubs.co.uk/product/2-inch-balboa-heater-oring-gasket-single/

Black o-ring for 2" pump unions here: https://castlehottubs.co.uk/product/2-5-inch-union-o-ring/

Again I usually use the gasket without the rib for pump unions and for heater unions if I don't have a 2" gasket with the rib.
