Title: Pre-filter - Water filtration - Whole House Filter, well water
Post by: sergey on October 07, 2019, 10:37:04 am
Hello All

We have a well water with high but not too high calcium/metal/TDS.

I can use pre-filter like https://www.hottubessentials.ca/carbon-block-spa-pre-filter.html
Is it just carbon filter ? Does it really help or it is better to use just "metal gone" solution once spa is filled ?

Do you know how they work ? May I use a regular whole house filer - if yes then what filter cartridge will do the same work ?
Whole house filter : https://www.homedepot.ca/product/watts-whole-house-clear-standard-filtration-system-with-2-replacement-filters/1000164571

Thank you !

A pre-filter (only turn the water on half pressure when using it) + (1) pint of metal gone should be sufficient, if when you fill the water is really discolored from Iron/Copper/etc. I would recommend pulling and cleaning the filters 2-3x during the first 24 hours after you've added the metal gone, then once the metal has been removed you can balance alkalinity/pH and start adding your sanitizer to the water...Good Luck!
