My wife and I are looking for our first ever tub and the round ones would fit best for us and the space we have. Only one of our local dealers has a round tub and it is a dimension 1 journey. It is brand new but is a 2014 model. They are asking $4850 for the tub with cover, steps, chemicals, and installation an hour away from the dealer. It still comes with a 3 year warranty but it's still a 4 year old tub.
What do you think about this model and buying a new 4 year old tub? Is this a fair price?

A new 2014 model? In 2018?
I mean, I guess that is possible. Highly unlikely from a good dealer, which gives me pause as most "good" dealers know that they basically got an anvil on their credit line or valued inventory.
You may want to call the factory and ask what the actual warranty would be. Make sure that Serial number has never been registered.

Yeah, that sounds super fishy. Without a good, plausible story I would probably skip it. Calling the factory was a good suggestion. Ask the dealer for the serial number. If they won't provide it, run.
