Although we've dipped back into a deep freeze here in Northern Minnesota our boat. sports, and travel show started this week and that can only mean one thing.....soon we will be able to see brown on the ground again instead of the brown that's lifted up a couple feet on top of the dirty feb. snow. The wind will start coming from a different direction than north. Our garage doors will start to close fully again with out a shoulder block. All the extension cords strung across the driveway to my kids cars can be rolled up. Sigh, this time of year is antsy indeed. Any one been to Sunset coutry Ontario, thinking about camping someplace up there for a week this summer.

Soon we will be chipping ice off the driveway in hopes of seeing the driveway soonnerrrrr...........

Those of us who have a dirt drive don't care! But if your one of those rich Lake homes out by the chains I spose you have one of those fancy smansy concrete inlayed drives to show off for sales. Oooops I let the cat out of the bag! Asdco sells the stuff for concrete patterened drives now also....compitition.

I wish I had manufacturer reps flying me all over feeding me drinks and hookers. Oh wait. I leave on March 5th......LOL Have fun bud.
-
"Hookers"- is that connected with ice fishing, or the more traditional meaning?
;)
-
I picked up the wink Chuck. ;D
Yea ice fishing. You have to be from a more moderate er I mean miserable (typo) climate to understand.
One day you really should make sure you don't die before you stay over night on a frozen lake ice fishing. Watchin the Northern lights and listening to........the ice.
-
Either that or sleep on the beach in Maui ..
Hard to choose!
-
Watching the northern lights I could appreciate, but if that ice makes one sound, I'm running full speed for shore. I suppose if you know the thickness of the ice and it is way below the melting point, you could get use to the ice, but it would take me a while.

The ice cracking is actually a good thing, it means that new ice is forming.
It's still a bit disturbing to look down at your feet and see a big crack in the ice running between your feet, though.

There is nothing quite like being on the ice later in the day as the temp goes down and you can hear the ice cracking...preferably with some cherry whiskey to help keep warm if the fish aren't biting :)

I sort of tuned out at that point in your sentence... was there more?
;)
-
With your truck parked outside the door of the fish house, and your buddys truck, and 3 feet or more of ice beneath you the last thing you need to worry about is going through. Brewman said it, noise is good. Bought a new power auger today, old one of 15 years bit it.

Good question - I doubt it. My fishing is always north of Kingston on smaller lakes.
