I moved to Bella Vista about mid Oct. 2017. The home came with a hot tub. Its an 2006 dimension one venture model 141814 hot tub When we bought it the previous owner had a local company comeout and pump the tub and refill it. We were in the middle of a month so it was not a bad bill about 80 dollars. The next month was higher 175 and Dec was 245. Jan just came in and it was 365 crazy money. Not sure what is going on.

You have something else going on. Meter the tub.

Is your home heated by electric??

Ether put a meter on the tub or watch your meter with and without the tub running. If that doesn’t work drain your tub for a month and see what happens. First step is to figure out if the tub is a problem or if it isn’t then what is the problem.

How do you put a meter on your hot tub??
Get a clamp on amp meter and clamp it around one of your 240v feeder legs and see how much current the tub is drawing when the heater is on and when it isn’t on. That’s the simplest way. You could also but a power meter like is on your house but one that would just monitor the tub.

Get one of these and hard wire it into your tub power supply wires. I have 2 of them.
