Title: High water temp
Post by: bwspa on September 16, 2017, 09:41:02 am
So I started my did for the first time yesterday, set it to 104°, came home a couple hours later and it was right on the money.  After about 30 min use I decided to set the temp to 102° so I could try and see the difference the next day.  I used the tub a while longer that night, plus a few hours of Jets running as I was aerating the water for chemicals.

This morning I found the water has increased to 106°, and after running the Jets another 30 min for more chemicals, it rose to 108°.  Display still shows set temp of 102°.

Am I correct that it's just from running the Jets?

Could be a bad hi-limit switch, or if you're in a warm area, realize that the tub is sitting out in hot weather, maybe in sunlight, wearing what amounts to the world's greatest winter coat.

That would happen to my caldera I would just power off for a couple of minutes then turn back on to reset

The overnight temps was about 60°, and it was 65° when I was checking this morning.  So I wouldn't think ambient temperature contributed to heat rise.  If it has continued to heat by the time I get back home, I'll try resetting the unit.
