I have owned one of each using the same water supply. The Sundance required fewer chemicals and much less maintenance. I cannot keep the wtaer in the Catalina clean no matter what I seem to do. Maybe the Sundance much much larger filter and running the filter 4 times a day vs, two explains the difference. I do not know but the Catalina has been a disaster
