Title: New hot tub advice
Post by: Conine2965 on June 11, 2017, 08:38:07 pm
15 year old hot tub is going. Down to 2 tubs marquis vector 21 94l or a Artesian grand Bahama. Looking for and comparisons on tub and price. Thanks in advance.

Can't comment on Artesian as there has not been a dealer around me in years but generally speaking they are considered a good brand, but somewhat lesser known.

As for the Marquis, price will vary depending on the options included but I would think on the low end, about $8000 and it could easily approach $12000 if you are including MicroSilk and stereo.  I think the V94L has a nice layout with a really comfortable lounge/adirondack chair, but personally think they could have made one of the corner seats deeper (I'm 5'8" for reference).

Assuming the dealers are credible, and they are almost as important as the brand in my opinion, and your pricing is fair, I would wet test and get the one that fits you the best.

It is,a Caldera Tahitian Utopia. It's been a good tub but caldera wants almost 12k for the new one so I looked at other tubs trying for the 7 to 10k range quote on marquis 94L is 7995. Which is good price I think

$7995 is really low on the V94L, that's a really good deal.  We sell them for $9995 with no options.  The V94L has been one of the best sellers this year, I like being able to take all of the power and put it in to one seat, or have all jets running at the same time if you have a lot of people using it.  Some of the pulsating jets in the Marquis Vector21 series feel incredible, I also like the center geyser jet, very impressive if you see it turned all the way on.

do you like the 94 version with the lounger or not and how would this compare price wise to a Marquis e series 660?

I prefer the V94L over the V94, but both are nice.  The 660 should be right around the same price, if not exactly the same price.  660 also a very nice hot tub!  Very powerful jets on the 660 as well.
Same pump system and controls between the 660 and V94L, both good quality and very energy efficient.

Artesian builds a really nice spa and are very under rated around here.   The south seas is like their second line I believe?  We sold them for a number of years before Jacuzzi and I still see customers that are still enjoying them, though they have had to replace a few jets/parts here and there over the years.  FYI we sold them 2002 to 2006

Really, really low price. I'm also at 9995 with upgraded lighting. I just sold a 94with lights, microsilk and spa frog for 13,500 on Saturday. You are getting a steal at that price

I know it comes with inline clorinator and I think lights. Any comparisons  to the Artesian south seas 850 or 860. Also thanks for all the help . Just like 15 years ago trying to find unbiased info on hot tubs is difficult.

Looking for a 90 inch plus tub couldn't find any caldera, hot spring marquis or bullfrog in that size wit h the 5 yr warranty. Best deal in that size seemed to be the v94 at 7995. All the 5 yr warranty stuff seemed to be well over 10k . Grandee was 12k caldera was 12k bull frog 8 dea lee wanted 15k. No Sundance or d1 here and Lester guy can't be trusted. If you have any model suggestions please let me know. I greatly appreciate the advise.

I do wish it was 5. Would be easier to sell but it is the same equipment on the signature series that is 5. I sell against hydropool and Lazy Boy a lot. A lot of there tubs are even more expensive and have a 3 year also. Warranty is built into price and not necessarily a sign of future problems or pre mature breakdowns

Yes priced makena was nice and was same price as the 94 which I thought the 94 was a better tub.

I asked because you asked about 5 year warranty stuff. Makena has a 5 year warranty as well?  That's a cheap price for that tub too. Where do you live?

Marquis (and most modern quality brands) are very reliable these days and the chances of something major happening between year 3 and year 5 would be pretty slim.  The most expensive part on the hot tub is typically $400-500 max on a Marquis, and most parts are far less than that.  If you like the price and the hot tub, I wouldn't get caught up on 2 years of warranty.  Most of the 5 year warranty spas have that warranty built in to the price, so think of it as a discount for taking a small risk that something would go wrong between year 3 and 5.  Even if something did break, you're still going to be saving a lot of money.

Hottubguy I live in Albany N.Y. I may have been confused on model because caldera I looked at at that price didn't have 5 yr warranty.
