Post by: 39lasalle on November 17, 2016, 05:04:06 pm
I just started to use this last week and started itching like like crazy a day later....is any one allergic to this stuff?

Any thing to substitute?

You could try a different brand of MPS but I can't imagine there's all that much difference between them.  If it's the MPS itself you seem to be sensitive to then you can stick to just chlorine for both sanitizing and shock.

It is common to be reactive to MPS. A different brand won't help. Can you get by without it? Are you bromine or chlorine? Or other   :-[

We are using Dichlor.....so i guess we dont have to use...

Just treat with dichlor after each use and shock once a week?

Try not to let the CY level get to high. Switch to straight unscented bleach after a few weeks.

A lot of times people make the mistake of getting in the tub right after shocking the spa.  You always want to shock after you use the hot tub, and don't use it for at least 2-3 hours after shocking.  Also very important to leave the cover off when shocking, and don't over shock it.
