Title: Electrical Install Questions

In preparation for the new hot tub I just ordered, I will be doing some of the rough electrical work and a licensed electrician friend of mine will be doing the final terminations and inspect the work I did and thus I have 2 quesitons.

1) I understand that the GFCI disconnect box needs to be a minimum of 5' from the spa.  Does anyone know if there is any height requirement off the ground and also if there is any minimum distance from a hose bib?

2) Is there a requirement that that conduit needs to be metallic versus non-metallic.  I plan on using flexible conduit.

I think these to questions are variable to your local code requirements. Minimum of 5 feet and within sight. I wouldn't install the gfci shut off any higher than you can comfortable reach for access and repair. I'm guessing the hose bib has close to the same requirement. 5'.
