Title: adding PH Up or Down while in the tub?
Post by: hanexs on August 11, 2016, 07:44:04 pm
Hi,  The other day I was in the tub and noticed it needed some PD down so I threw it in without getting out.  Wondering if this is a no-no?  PH up is basically the equivalent of baking soda right, so I imagine that'd be ok.  Just wondering if there is more to this then I was considering.

PH down is acid.  I'd not want to be in the tub for that.  PH up not so worried, but I still make all my adjustments when I'm not in the tub.

+1 always best to make adjust while you are out of the water.   a small amount of dry acid isn't going to hurt anything.  but the best practice is to adjust before you get in csuse if things are that urgent then you have to question the decision to use the spa in the first place.  Specific to pH adjustments ,  in fact it is best to measure it when the water is still, as agitation will cause an upward drift anyway.
