Title: Jacuzzi J325 120 to 240 volt conversion
Post by: im45us on July 11, 2016, 01:11:40 pm
I have a 2 year old J325 that has been on 120 volt till now. I have a licensed electrician run 240 volt to the tub. Moved the red wire down like the manual says and checked the voltages with a meter. It's all correct but when you turn power on it trips the breaker right away. We have looked at the drawing and red the manual and can find no problem but still trips.

Any idea what it might be?

Thanks Ivan

All set. The neutral on the GFCI was wired wrong. Thanks for looking.

Very common problem. The instructions on the GFCI are just as important.

I don't know how many times I have seen a "licensed" electrician do this and tell the customer there is something wrong with the spa, and you better call your dealer.  ::)  Probably about as many times as I have sent a bill to the electrician for us having to go out and fix it, which has been quite a few times.   ;)

Guessing so, I would have to ask the accounting dept.
