Title: Grumble
Post by: Nhsusan on October 27, 2015, 06:55:34 am
Argh,
Why can't people on Craigslist list the Make, Model and year of the used hot tub that they have listed?
Am I asking for too much?

If they are proud of it they will list it. If not it's more likely junk.

Thank you.

Many times people have no clue of what they have.  Unless it's a known name like Jacuzzi, Sundance or Hot Springs.  Even then they might just call it a Jacuzzi.

I have a work friend that bought a house with a tub, I think it was a Nordic brand but he was really into the tub when he first moved into his house. One day he texted me and wanted to see my tub so I took a photo and sent it to him ... his reply was "$**t, you have a beast of a tub". The next time we talked he was kind of apologetic about his tub in which I told him just enjoy his tub. I guess he thought I had something similar to what he had.

I agree with Jacuzzi Jim - people don't have a clue in a lot of aspects of their lives.

Maybe some of those listing their used spas listened to their mother when she said "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything". ;)

People are like this on much of the "junk" they own, they often have no clue of the brand name, and almost never know the the model.  About the only exception is their automobile, they can all tell you the make, model, year, mileage, etc on their car, but washing machines, generators, hot tubs, lawn mowers, ... and at best you get about a 10% chance that the information they give you is right.  Also like new usually means, dented, rusted, knobs broken off, and "used to run" / "ran fine the last time we used it" means either it is broken or they are not smart enough to make it work.

I was agreeing with Tman, but also thinking what you said.   I did see one ad that was titled Used Jacuzzi, but in the photo I recognized it as a Coast product.
