Title: Tempo Price sound good?
Post by: mikemohn on October 22, 2015, 01:19:51 am
I got quoted a price for a HotSpring Tempo with delivery, set up, cover, cover cradle lift, ozone system III, steps and 220 volt GFCI.  $9473 plus tax.  Does that seem close to what others are paying?

Welcome to the forum!   Not having been in the market for 3 years now I tend to stay out of pricing discussions, but hope that works out for you.

It sounds a little high... With some negotiating (and the recent $1000 factory rebate), I was able to get an Aria with all you mentioned for $10,100 plus tax. It was an in stock model (not a floor demo) so I had to take the color they had. Honestly, I got lucky as the color combo would have been one of my top choices. I don't know how much you could get that price down, but you should be able to get a higher level tub for $9500.

It does seem high for a Tempo with those options you listed. Anything about the job the dealer knows and we don't?

No.  He quoted the regular price for the spa as $9495.  After adding in delivery and the other items, the total was $10747.  He knocked that down to the $9473 because of some rebate I believe.  After reading online about the model, I felt the price was a little on the high side.

My father was from Oklahoma and I know what he would do, he would assume that price to be negotiable and with his okie charm he would firmly present his counter offer.

I used to sell quite a few Tempo's before I changed jobs...average selling price w/ delivery & accessories was $8,795-$8,995...so you are in the ballpark, but if that is the model you are going with and you are ready to buy I always recommend negotiating more of course  :)

I just got the Jacuzzi J-245.  $6000 and that included cover, cover lift, steps, delivery and chemicals.  I had to order one because they didn't have the color my wife wanted, but that gives me time to get things ready!
