Title: How much slope on cement pad
Post by: Coleman on June 02, 2015, 05:01:34 am
I was wondering how much slope should the cement pad have for water to run off? the pad will be 10' wide.
Thanks Coleman

Hi Coleman,
What's the climate like?  I've seen suggestions of between 1/2" and 2" over an 8 foot pad, but the amount of slope you'll need will likely vary depending on your climate.

I don't know that the pad really needs to be sloped at all.  My pad is only slightly larger that the tub, and a deck covers it so no issues.  Even if there is no deck framing the tub, if the pad is only slightly bigger than the tub then there should be no issues with water collecting as the pads typically have finished edges that will allow water to drain from the edges of the pad.

I put a 1/2" slope on 9ft when I re-laid my paving stone patio last year. You notice it in the water line, but it does keep my water running away from the house enough.

Hope that helps!
