Title: Hot Tubbing After Surgery
Post by: PJBear on March 10, 2015, 09:15:01 pm
Quick question:  I had laparoscopic abdominal surgery last Wednesday.  I was wondering how long I need to stay out of my poor, lonely, hot tub.  I miss it as much as it misses me…maybe even more.

Anyone have any ideas?  I was told no shower for four days.  No soap residue for a week or so.  Tomorrow is a week.  No stitches, just Steri-Strips and they are to come off tomorrow.

Thanks!

I don't believe we have any licensed doctors here, qualified to answer your question.

I am an RN, I would recommend waiting until your incisions are completely healed, likely at least 2-3 weeks..hot water trapped in a small dark hole -like laprascopic ports, has a very high likelihood of causing infection....serious infection.
