Title: It's cold
Post by: wmccall on February 19, 2015, 07:16:35 am
Everyone still using their tubs? Especially those of us east of the Mississippi?   Our winter in Central Ohio hasn't been as cold as many near us. I think we have only had 3 days below zero and not that much snow compared to nearby places.   -4 this morning. My personal record for using our hot tub is 4F.   Last night when I went to use the tub it was still +5f so no new record.

I was in mine on Tuesday night.  -4 with a 16 mph wind.  I pulled my hat down past my nose and had my chin in the water.  It was surprisingly comfortable, I was in there for about 45 minutes!

-4 degrees with 10 mph winds for the wife and I. Knit hats work great as they prevent some body heat loss. We are loving the winter except for the snow shoveling. We're in Upstate NY> a ton of snow here!! Our neighbors must think we are crazy!! or they're curious/jealous  ::)

Its 5 here now, headed for -10 so I should set a new personal record here.  The few times its been colder here since I owned my tub it had 40 mph winds.    The day I was out when it was 4 it ws calm and quiet. The next night it was 19 degrees and a blizzard.

This is the coldest February on record here...average temp for the month so far of 5.7 degrees. We were the coldest in the nation twice this month...36 below and 20 something below. I'm in the tub around 9-10pm, -14 is the coldest it's been while I was in it.  Plenty of snow too...I do that Swedish thing of getting out of the tub, going for a roll in the snow, and back in the tub. That gets  the blood flowing!

It was -1 last night at 10pm when I went out.  No wind and all and no clouds.  Orion was bright in front of me as I sat in the corner enjoying the 106 heat, which dropped to 104 by the time I got out.  The neighborhood was dark and quiet. It was quite relaxing.

Think of all the airborne germs that get killed when it's cold. The air becomes cleaner. Take a deep breath.
