My 15 year old spa has a 4" crack on the step area. The shell material in the flat of the step is only maybe 1/16" thick. It has cracked before and I used fix a leak liquid and put a decal over thee crack which was much smaller previously. I haven't been using the step but my wife does.
The crack developed to about 4" long. I ordered a repair kit from the D1 parts store and used it yesterday. I assume this will fix the leak.
My concern is that the step will continue to flex. I was thinking of cutting the shape of the step from a old white plasstic toilet seat cover and glueing it to the step to provide some thickness. i.e. stiffness.
Does anyone have any experience with this repair? After using the epoxy repair kit, does the repair hold up?
By the way, I have had leaks in other areas. I removed the insulation and used the liquid after which I blew air with a blower in the generall area and it has held.

can you support it from underneath with maybe a 2x4 "T" or square somehow ?

support from underneath repair on top. skip the toilet seat.

Thanks for your reply. I will continue to rese arch this. A fix to support the step underneath is logical.
