You are being featured over on the dark side.
Condensed version:
In addition to being an expert spa engineer, he's also an expert gun smith, or so goes the claim.
(His few words on the subject clearly demonstrates that he's isn't, but no suprise there).
-
Did you know that Colorado has a law called "The Dirty Harry Law" it says if an intruder comes into your home you have the right to shoot and kill them!
This gun is made for killing sporting clays, quail, pheasant, geese, rabbits and turkeys. They are noones first choice for people. Though I have plenty of guns that would do the job for people we choose to use them on big game and paper targets. šGun smith? I dont think so, ruled in his favor? I dont think so! A million Dollars is alot of money!
Though I believe his comments were directed at Terminator I stand behind Terminators right and obligation to protect himself and his family by bearing arms. The only people that have to fear being shot by him are those intending to cause harm što him or his family. Unfortunately there is no law protecting those who purchase šdangerous hottubs!
-
I see he says the court ruled in his favor.
-
I got the sense he was talking about Terminator and his assault style rifle, discussions on beer, and the pics of the healthy ladies he posts.
;D
Here's the funny thing: Jim used to have a link on his site to some granny-panty hose fetish site. It was bizzare.
I guess, by his logic, that If you drink, I guess that makes you an "alky". Huh. I think this is very telling about this guy's personality. Extreame, limited in scope, and basicaly wrong.
And once again, an uprovoked name calling by someone who claims to be the victom.
And yes, an assualt rifle's primary purpose is for killing people. It's called self protection and a person's right to defend themeselves and their home. It's a right afforded by the Constitution.
Shooting enthusiats also enjoy many different stlyes of guns and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Someone with a "gun smithing" background would also understand the even though an assualt rifle "looks" evil and bad and nasty, (oh no!!!!!!) it's a semi automatic rifle and its differences between it and a sporting rifle are cosmetic.
-
Haaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The AR-15 isn't even mine! It's my 7-year old daughter's!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
1. I have no "assault weapons." Assault weapons are fully automatic rifles that continuously fire bullets as long as the trigger is held. All of my rifles are semi-automatic. One bullet is fired with each trigger pull. Any U.S. citizen that is not a convicted felon can own one.
2. I'm about as far from being a womanizer as one can get. I've been married to the same woman for 12.5 years, don't fool around, and think anyone who does is a dirt bag.
3. Anyone that thinks I sit up here getting drunk, playing with guns, and acting a fool is 66% correct.
Oh yeah, I have never paid a dime for the priviledge of posting here, much less bought any advertising.
Also, I've never been sued, arrested, had child abuse charges filed against me, changed my name, or made outrageous claims like "I invented the question mark" or "I have altered the universal laws of thermodynamics." Heck, I have never even gotten a traffic ticket (well, one time for no seatbelt, but that doesn't count).

I see he says the court ruled in his favor.
He said the last ruling was in thier favor. For some reason, that doesn't strike me as a blanket "We won".
Who knows what that actually means. After all, this is comming from some one who outright lies and has dellusions.
-
It's really interesting, everyone's opinion on what an assault weapon is.
Terminator's definition is pretty much right on, IMHO.
Many people predicted (wrongly) doom would ensue when the so called "Assault Weapons Ban" expired last year (or was it the year prior?).
Those people most up on their pulpit were the most uninformed. Blind prejudice, and being totally in the dark on what this legislation was all about didn't stop them from shooting their mouths off (no pun intended).
Sorta like our Colorado Cruisader.

This quote was interesting........"It is funny how it all worked out. Our insurance company has all of this taken care of"
If I had to guesstamate,I would conclude that Conjunas insurance company is covering the cost/s of his company being sued, and the liable amount.
And to think,I gave the newly self elected prez of gun-smithing free, useful advice.......and he totally used it in the opposite direction lol.
Gotta wonder when the leader of the darkside, will search his heart and feelings, and understand the real truth to things? I would hope he would/will see the light, prior to his departure from earth.
Guess the olde saying iz true....you can't teach an olde dog new trixs.
Adios for now, playing hookie from work, and need to get back to it so I can afford some grub for T-day.
-
Oh TX,just thought of this......you could use as a caption......
He would even shoot his own mom if she got in his way etc etc etc
(my thought processes at work people, just ignore me lol)

When the expiration of the AWB was on the horizon, there were many people screaming about how this would cause all sorts of bad things to happen.
Most of these predictions were based on incorrect information. Much like Mr. Gruver's ranting on the subject. That was the comparison I was going for.

O got it now! Thanks I had a blond moment.

No problem. ;D

I've seen a kitchen knife, a .32 cal POS pistol, ball bat, screw driver, etc all used (effectively) as an "assault weapon". Trying to classify a firearm by the fact it has a collapseable stock, flash suppressor, large capacity magazine, is a ridiculous exercise best left to democratic senators. Of course, I'm very biased towards gun totin' alkies having LOT's of guns (including select fire) and a kegorator.
If I can find the forum in question, I'd like to read the thread.
-
Hmmm. I think the post was taken down....( I thought it would.)
Here is part of the quote, Since it is taken from an internet site available to the public, and is considered to be in the public domain, I'll post it here for prosperity:
"...By the way I have noticed that your message forum has been reduced to the rantings of a womanizer, gun toting, alcholic maniac. Those weapons he is putting on the forum are designed for one thing..to kill people. I have studied gun smithing and I know what a sporting rifle is and what an assault rifle or hand gun is. I guess anyone who pays for advertising is allowed to post their insanity...."
-
Nice save, Drewstar, since the thread has indeed disappeared. Along with all posts concerning the lawsuit. Or were they all in the same thread?
-
They have indeed dissappeared from that site, trust me they have not disappeared! We make certain that someone copies everything.!!!!!!!!

Just doing what I can to help the fourm. :)
Yes, it was all in the same thread. He claimed he won the latest ruling, and then mentioned his insurance company was covering the tab. He then ranted on Term, for what reason, we can only guess.
-
I am beginning to revel in being labeled a "womanizer, gun toting, alcholic (sic) maniac". Only in my wildest dreams did ever hope that one day I would be seen in that light. When you factor in that I also sell The World's Deadliest Spa (700,000 victims and counting), I daresay I have become one of the most dangerous people on the planet. I'm almost like a Ninja! How cool is that?!!!!!!!! :D

Being labeled as a "Gun totin, womanizing, alky..." by JA is the equivalent of getting awarded the "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval."
It's a title you should wear with pride!
-
Check this post out from a JA customer whose blower is fried:
"Jim: Speaking of warranty, I called yesterday for service and spoke with Adam who was supposed to relay a message to Jayden or Rick. They did not call back yesterday. Please have them get on it. Since the repair will involve I assume finding a tech on my end and shipping out a new blower rather than a call by one of your staff personally, it will drag out longer than usual anyway and my back can't tolerate being out of the water too long."
The reason they don't call back if is they don't know how to tell the customer they'll send the part (I hope they don't charge him and promise to refund him when they get the part back) but Jim expects them to install it. The guy actually thinks Jim is going to pay someone to fix the spa? Granted, changing a blower isn't rocket science but when you get a warranty you don't expect that you'll be the one supplying the labor. I feel sorry for the guy but he should have known what he was getting himself into when he paid an exorbitant amount of money to an out of town internet salesman.
-
Gunexpert Gruver's reply:
"Today is the first day I will be back in the office. The trip was long.
You can use the tub all you want, just don't run the blower for a while. We will get you fixed as soon as possible. "
That's service for ya. First the excuse for not getting to this sooner. Apparently his staff is incapable of handling minor part swaps, JA himself has get home before any customer service happens?
The customer then responds that the part is on the way. No mention on who or how it's going to be installed. Does the poor customer have to do this, or try and hire a tech, pay him, submit a bill, and hope he gets a check?
Everytime someone posts a warranty issue to his board, they always end up telling everyone how they love their spa and service. If my dealer pulled this crap on me I'd be over there breathing fire pretty quickly.

Wow. I thought he had a network of "spa specialist" all over the place (kinda like Team America) that would spring into action when service was needed.
"I've busy and will get to it later" What the hell?
My response is F.U. JA FU. I'll find a tech NOW and will send you the bill.
I remember JA writing that his service team was better than having a local dealer, because with a local dealer, you have to rely on that dealer. With JA you get the best! (when reading his accounts with actual customers he looks in the phone book and gets anyone he can find)
I can imagine it now....
"Sir, I found a guy name Jethro in your area, now he's never worked on a spa, but he can swap a pump no problem. I'm going send this stranger over to you house tomorrow. Tell your wife to leave the door unlocked....."
This guy's back is going to hurt a lot more than it does now before his tub is back in action.
A customer doens't get serviced becasue JA was busy on a trip?
What are people going to do when this guys decides to move on, retire or drop dead?

Throw the worlds largest party? Oh wait, that'd be us.
Except life would get a little more boring. But just a little. He does have a certain entertainment value, but at a high cost.
I did ask him once, posing as a potential customer, who his crack service person was in the Minneapolis area, and he refused to divulge the name, saying that it was none of my business, basically. Guess he didn't have the MPLS yellow pages open to the "Jethro" section handy.

if you ask me i think you are a sick man for posting a photo of yourself with a weapon that kills people and animals. I am sorry but you are a very scary man. ???
Guns kill people and animals? Uh oh, mine must be defective.
-
Last time we checked, Terminator's guns haven't killed anyone.
Nor have mine.
And exactly what is wrong with shooting critters? They're darn tasty.
You know what they say-
"If God didn't want us eating animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat".

Brooke you hit it on the head. It is impossible for a gun or bullets to kill anything. Absolutly no way in the world it could happen.

Here in MA, I saw a bumper sticker on a car just this morning:
Ted Kennedy's Oldsmobile has killed more people than my gun.

Hey all you gun toting womanizin alkys (Term, Lt Dan I'm looking in your direction) have you seen this site?

Interesting. It shows the effects of different rounds, the section on body armor was surprising to me.
-

Bullseye, Brooke.
But these types don't like to blame actual people for their actions, that would be politically incorrect. It's easier to blame the tools of a criminal, usually their guns, than to blame the crime on the person who did it.
That would take some sand, and most of these types don't have any. Plus you also have to blame another non person entity- society or ourselves.
What did we do to cause these people to act this way?
Right. Blame anyone or anything except the actor.
Using that logic (actually illogic), cars kill WAY more people than guns do, but you don't hear anyone calling for them being banned.
-
Keep telling it like it is Brewman, you are on a roll!!!!
Ninjas kill more people than guns do.
Platypus's kill more people than guns do.
Killer Bees kill more people than guns do.
So do pot-bellied pigs, monkeys and apes (especially those damned dirty chimps!), rattlesnakes, Sumo wrestlers, doctors, fat bearded ladies, pastry chefs, and Moonies.
And that's the truth.

Personally, I am not a gun person. I don’t believe in them. I don’t own one. I don’t think I will never own one. I think streets are safer when people don’t have them.
However, I understand that people want to own them, do own them, and it is their rite to own them.
In Pennsylvania, there was a murder that made the news nationally where an 18 year old murdered his girlfriend’s parents with, I believe, his parents weapons. My question to all of you is this, if he had limited access to his parent’s weapons or if his parents had no weapons would the murders have happened?
Also for the ones on this site that own guns, his parents owned 54 guns. Why does one need 54 guns?
Here is the article of the 18 year old if you haven’t heard of the case:

Sorry if my comments ruffle some feathers.

He was an 18-year old adult with his mind set on killing his underage girlfriend's parents. Could've used a knife and butchered them, could've burned down their house and roasted them alive, could've poisoned them, etc, etc, etc.....
He was a criminal. Too bad the parents weren't armed or the right person might have died. Can't let them catch you unarmed. Criminals go armed, law-abiding citizens should in order to protect themselves from those who aren't law-abiding.

Chris,
I don't think that your posts ruffle any feathers. It's a legitimate question.
Jon Lott is an economist who attempted to take a look at gun owership and crime statistics. His research indicates More guns, less crime. (Which became the name of his book).
http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/493636.html
I hope this doens't come out sounding trite, but the tragedy in PA is the exception, not the rule and we could argue to the point of ad nasuem of what would have happend if there wasn't any guns in the house? (Would they have been stabbed, beaten, burned?).

Not at all- You have the right to your opinions.
But-
In this state, an 18 year old can walk into any sporting good store and purchase any rifle or shotgun on the shelf, so I don't think that the removal of a specific tool, in this case a gun from his parents home, would necessairly prevent someone from comitting murder. If guns were gone, the skum would just switch to another tool to get their job done. Like a knife, arson, poison, home made weapon of almost any sort. There'd probably be a all kinds of creative ways to off someone if for whatever reason guns became hard to get.
Gun restrictions just affect people who are already law abiding by nature.
Like me- I have enough hoops to go thru here just to purchase a pistol and have spent hundreds more to get a permit to carry one.
Think criminals bother with that?
I'm not anywhere near tempted to shoot anyone. I hope that never has to happen, but if my or my families lives were in danger, I'm not going down without a fight.
The streets would be WAY safer if nobody drove cars, trucks, motorcycles, busses, etc... Tens of thousands of people per year would not die in motor vehicle crashes.
-
...but if my or my families lives were in danger, I'm not going down without a fight...
Brewman, I've watched the recent drift of discussion on this board toward guns, guns and more guns with some bemusement since I'm a sportsman with a few rifles and shotguns, and was pistol owner back when I lived in the country and trapped, but I am having a hard time buying into your personal safety argument. It is my understanding that you work in an office and live in the suburban Twin Cities. Why do you feel the need for a concealed weapon?
I also live in the suburban Twin Cities, I can't help but wonder... what security risk you see that would make you want to jump through all the hoops to get a concealed carry permit and take on the risks associated with a handgun in the home? We feel safe enough to let our kids play on the street, greet strangers with an open door, and sometimes forget to lock our doors at night. We never even think about a need to protect ourselves from some unseen threat. With all due respect, are we naive, or are you paranoid ;)?
If you, Terminator, Lt Dan and some of the others like guns that's fine with me. I do, too -- but I don't see a need to rationalize it, or start spouting NRA rhetoric on a board whose primary purpose is bringing together people with an interest in hot tubs. While I realize that most of it is all intended to be in good fun, I find some of it off-putting and would suspect others do as well. There are plenty of other sites for gun interests. I respectfully request that you move the gun discussion there.
Anybody miss my Friday sermons while I was gone? 8)
-
Why do you feel the need for a concealed weapon?
I'd rather have it and never need it than need it one time and not have it. It's our right as free citizens to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our property. You do it how you see fit, I'll do it how I see fit. That's what is great about being a Texan and an American. :)
I'll quit talking about guns unless someone asks me about it. It'd be rude not to reply.

Kind of like a flu shot, huh? ;)Terminator, your safety situation may be completely different than mine. I respect that and wouldn't presume to tell you what you need to be, or feel, safe. But if people want to rationalize gun rights and ownership on a hot-tub site, they have to expect a challenge or two. That's probably why the header for this section says everything's fair except religion or politics.
Regarding your willingness to tone down the gun talk -- thanks. You're a gentleman (albeit, one with a big appetite for fun 8)), and I appreciate your understanding. Have a good weekend and a great party!
