Title: IQ-2000 issues?
Post by: Isaac-1 on September 03, 2014, 02:59:22 am
I think the IQ-2000 on my 1998 Jetsetter has went crazy, the problem started last week possibly after a lightning zap.  (we had a number of thunderstorms before I noticed the problems).

Here go the symptoms in no particular order

Light stays on in tub, pressing up or down button has no effect on brightness, but will turn off light icon on the screen

Tub is too hot (probably around 106-108 degrees and ignores changes to the temperature set point.  (I lowered the set point to 94 degrees waited a few hours and it was still hot)

So is there any hope of fixing it or should I break down and swap it out for an IQ-2020, control panel and LED light?

Before you do that, call the technical Hot Springs pros at backyardplus.com
They also have very good pricing if you do need a board and their partsfinder section is excellent.

Well I may have a work around for this problem, it seems the 100 watt light being stuck full on was turning the equipment compartment into an oven.  After disconnecting the light and letting things cool down it looks like the temperature control has started working again, only time will tell if it keeps working during the heat of the day with the cover back on etc.  I am not that concerned about the light not working as I almost never used the thing.   Anyway so far so good, and who knows if I get through the next couple of weeks the weather will start turning cooler and it may be ok until next summer.
