Title: Do I use ph up or ph down?

daughter went into spa with a white suit and it turned  blue.  Copper pipes have sprung pin whole leaks..   Lost what do I use. JW

Your water turned caustic because ph is low so you must bring it up.
I recommend raising the ph, then drain it, repair leaks and then refill.
 Monitor your ph and alkalinity faithfully and do not let the sanitizer level go above the high end of ideal.
 ( If you have a maintenance company it does not hurt to keep test strips and check water weekly yourself)

Do I use a different product for alkalinity or does PH up do it  Thanks.

You need a product to raise your Total Alkalinity.

Sodium Bicarbonate (aka Arm and Hammer baking soda) raises TA a lot, and pH a little. Sodium Carbonate (aka Soda Ash) raises pH a lot, and TA a little.

Either of these may be packaged under the "name" of pH up, or TA up...depending on the manufacturer. You have to look at the actual ingredients of the product, rather than the name of the product.
