Title: Guide Price for 2013 Jacuzzi J-375 - Floor Model
Post by: Bainesy36 on August 11, 2014, 02:19:01 pm
Hi all,

We are currently in the process of shopping for our first hot tub and have so far been impressed with the Arctic Spas and Jacuzzi dealers in town. We have also had a couple of quotes on a few new 2014 models that we're interested in, but was curious to hear what you think a 2013 Jacuzzi J-375 floor model might be worth? It has the Stereo fitted and would come with cover, cover lifter, steps, start up chemicals and delivery.  We are located in Calgary, Alberta so obviously in Canadian dollars.

Thanks in advance,
Nige.

I looked at a new 2014 model J375 in Milwaukee.  The retail price was around $14,700, sale price was at $11,500.  This was bare bones, no stereo, no smart seal, etc.  I believe I could have bought this tub for $10,000, plus tax.

I bought a used 2013 model J375.  The previous owners were from Ohio.  They paid $8600 for this tub.  Just goes to show you that the price will vary according to where you live.

I know the 2014 model is a little different than the 2013 model.  I love our tub, couldn't be happier.

Thanks Mike. Glad to hear you're enjoying your tub! :)

We have been given a price of $10,400 + gst (5%) on the J-375, however we would be keen to negotiate as it's still above our budget and not in our preferred colour.  If anyone else has any thoughts, that would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

I have not gotten a quote on this model. But I did get quotes on the J345. One dealer quoted $7,000 which includes cover, steps, chemicals and delivery. Another quoted $9,800 which includes, cover, lifter, steps, chemicals and delivery. I don't think the lifter cost  $2,800.

I'm still looking at the J355 model also and I'm scheduled for a wet test on August 23rd. I've been quoted a price of $8,100 for the J355 from the 1st dealer. I have gotten a quote on this one from the second dealer, but I can imagine it will be much more. Unfortunately, the first dealer doesn't do wet tests and the more expensive one does. So, my dilemma, do I purchase from the dealer with the best quotes or from the dealer that is allowing me to come in and wet test?

I didn't think the difference between one Jacuzzi dealer and another would be so different. My husband says we should go in with the quote from the fist dealer and see if the second will make us a better deal. We will have to wait and see.

So shop different dealers.

we don't have any different dealers......this guy covers a large area and its not worth it to me to save a couple thousand by driving 300 miles and then have no service tech if I need it , so im stuck with what I paid , and im ok with it knowing that im trouble free (and cost  / my labor free for 5 years )

7000 for a current J-345 is a very very low price.  Either one he is blowing it out to get rid of it or he's closing..  We sold them at 6995 around 4 or 5 years ago if I remember right.

He did say they were having a big sale this month. He said once he ordered it it would be 3 to 4 weeks before it came in. I ask it it was the 2014 model and he sad yes. So I don't know why his prices are so much cheaper. I would think if they are still ordering them, then surely they are not going out of business.

It does make me a little leery now. Maybe he is really selling last year's model. I don't know.

If I'm not mistaken, last years model did not have the foot dome, so you should be able to tell pretty quickly whether it is a 2013 or 2014 model.

Yes, and I specifically asked him about that because I need the foot dome to help me stay in my seat. He said yes it has the foot dome.

Maybe I should ask him why their prices are so much less than the other dealers, and see what he says.

Be cautious, but don't go immediately to skeptical....Pricing varies incredibly for a number of factors. Is the good deal a company of substantial size? Perhaps a high volume operation results in more favorable pricing with the manufacturer or the willingness to accept less margin per tub?

Good Luck!
Mike

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with either dealer. The one with the better deal is about 150 miles from me, in Louisiana. And the other one is about 180 miles from me in Texas. I live in Texas near the Louisiana border.

Thanks for the reply Budule. I'm assuming that is US Dollars, but even so, it makes me think we can work on the offer so far if we can accept the colour, lol.

If not, we will probably take a closer look and wet test the J-280.

Cheers,

He maybe ordering in blem spas, still to a dealer not a huge discount, but some.  Blems are usually a in-perfection in the shell somewhere, not a huge deal and most times not noticeable to a consumer.  The shell warranty is non existent on blems equipment should still be 5 years.  Or he is just selling on volume.  I could tell you the cost of a 345 but then I'd have to kill you..  ;)

I just put a down payment on the J375 2014 model. It comes with cover, lifter, steps, setup and delivery (I'm almost 300 miles from the dealer) and he threw in a spa brick cushion for me, total was $10,463.00.

I'm happy with my decision and can't wait for it to get here.
