Title: Potential 1st time owner
Post by: llc on April 28, 2014, 09:59:02 pm
My husband and I are going to consider a hot tub for our patio. We want a 5 person. I have been reading a little this evening and had some questions.
Is Jacuzzi still one of the top brands? The only posts that I see that claim this were dated back in 2006 I believe.

Yes jacuzzi is still one of the best. It's talked about on this forum often. Some of the other brands to consider in no order would be marquis, dimension one, hot spring or sundance. When talking about the best of the best those are the ones most commonly mentioned. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more but it's late

Artic Spas also makes a great tub. (See my new Klondiker in the "Show us your Hot tub" section.)

Welcome to the forum.  Yes, Jacuzzi is still considered one of the top by most people.  I would probably be a Jacuzzi owner myself had my wife and I not chosen a Sundance Majesta instead as a good fit for both of us.

Is there a list here anywhere of all of the different brands? Well the brands worth looking into.

I've been in the industry since 1996 and can say the following spa brands are worth looking into:
ABC order:
Artesian - USA
Bullfrog - USA
Caldera - Mexico
D-1 - USA/Mexico   Heard plant might be moving to Mexico
Hot Springs - USA/Mexico - (Hot Spot/Limelight - Mexico) (Highlife - USA)
Jacuzzi - Mexico
Nordic - USA
Marquis - USA
Sundance - Mexico

I thought I'd post where they're made too.  I'm a big fan of Made in USA.  Who isn't?

Like the post before, maybe a few I've passed up, but you'll see a common link to the brands in other posts.  Those are probably your best bet.
