Title: Catalina Spas
Post by: mgc91941 on June 20, 2004, 09:14:25 pm
I've read plenty of positive feedback on Sundance Spas, but haven't found much on Catalina Spas?  Anyone have any experience with Catalina?

There is A catalina Dealer  10 miles away from me. From what I've heard Their warranty is a weak point. Ask for a factory copy.  Real wood on the outside.(Plastic may be an option now.)  Thermo barrier,  they use Balboa controls.  Wet test.  The warranty is pro-rated and full of deductibles and fine print.

I'm not sure on the details on the Catalina warranty but our Artesian / Master dealer says they used to sell Catalina but stopped when they changed their warranty.  I assume that they made some change for the worse but I don't know what it was.

We don't get alot of people asking our opinion of catalina more vs. sundance and hot springs.  My sales rep had to call in a favor from a fellow rep just to get us copy of the warranty.  the last I had seen the warranty was very pro -rated, and full of deductibles.

Thank you all for the input.  I think I'll be scratching Catalina off of our list.  I also don't like the fact that they don't have any local distributors, which means servicing their warranty would likely be a problem as well.
