Title: I'm alive
Post by: wmccall on January 19, 2014, 11:57:56 am
I survived back surgery which was delayed from 1/6 to 1/10 because of weather.  I've weaned myself off the pain killers and I didn't want to moderate by hallucination!   I haven't been in a hot tub since 1/9 and it will be at least 3 more weeks.

I'm watching way too much TV.  Anyone own one of those expandable hoses?

Be careful on the expandable hoses.  There is a new one with better fittings out now.  The originals are very prone to leak at the fittings.  I don't own either of them but have looked into them and heard many not so good reviews on the fittings.......if I hear any updates on the new ones, will lyk!!!!!  Happy healing!!!!!

Wmccall,

Take it easy during your recovery.  What ever you do, resist the urge to push yourself, too much.    Hey, you will be back in your tub about the time my Artic will be delivered.

-Get well soon!

Bill,  Don't forget to check your spa on occasion
while you are healing.
I had one of the bright green expandable hoses
and it developed a split shortly after purchase.
So, while it was convenient to use at first it's
now in the landfill...

Glad to hear that your surgery went well!  Take it easy!  I too have wondered about those hoses - doesn't sound like they hold up too well from what others have posted.

In order for those expandable hoses to even work, they have to have a flow restriction at the end. If they didn't, they would simply flow the water but not expand. That means that you cannot expect much flow out of them - and I have tried three or four of them in customer's backyards - they do not move very much water at all.

If you are filling a tub, forget it! If you are watering potted plants, they are good.

All the best in your recovery Bill!

I didn't want to moderate by hallucination!

Since when did that matter?  ;)

Glad to hear you're back!

Two weeks down without a hottub, but two more weeks to go. My wife and daughter have used the hot tub a couple of times.
