I need to protect my cover from my pets . Is there anything detrimental by putting blue foam board on top of the cover. It would be great protection and maybe raise the r value somewhat .

If you weight/strap it down it should be fine.

Thank you . Wasn't really worried about it flying off. I had read somewhere that if you covered the cover with plastic the foam in the cover would deteriorate and maybe melt from heat buildup. I was worried the blue board might do the same. I've got to try something to protect the new cover from my #%^*€£ cats. In your experience do you think blue board is safe?

I don't see any issues with it, and pretty sure the heat of the spa won't melt any kind of foam, if it does you will have more to worry about than just a cat ;)
