Title: TA and how to test

I know what PH is and how to test for it, but several people said to test for TA.  My question is what is TA and how do you test for it.

TA is Total Alkalinity which is mostly the amount of bicarbonate in the water.  All but the most basic of pool and spa test kits have a TA test.

TA in the proper range can help to stabilize PH
