Title: Blower
Post by: brian_tr on November 09, 2012, 12:21:29 pm
I have a 2002 Cameo.  Last spring my blower stopped working.  Took it apart and tried it and it worked.  Put back together and it ran for a while but quit again right before  I shut the tub down for the summer.  Just filled back up and took it apart while tub filling.  After powered tub up tried  it and it started but there a lot of sparks coming from around the brushes on the motor.  Does this mean they are wore out?

Is the replacement blower:  http://www.spaandpoolsource.com/6500-103sundancespasairblowermotor.aspx

Yes. You may be able to replace the brushes, but you should also 'undercut' the mica in between the copper on the armature, and that's more than most DIY are capable of.

If you really USE the blower, then I would buy a replacement motor. If now, cap the line. Just don't forget to open that cap when you drain for the summer.

It quit working again.  Going to buy a new one.  Just need to make sure I get the right one.  Is the one I was looking at correct?
