Title: Clorox bleach is now more concentrated
Post by: pooch on September 07, 2012, 09:26:35 am
I went in to Sam's the other day to get a 3-pack of reg bleach, not there anymore! In its place were smaller bottles that contain new more concentrated bleach.

Is this just the same old bleach with the chlorine level bumped up, or is this something new that I shouldn't use anymore. All Clorox bleach starting in 2013 will be the new formula.

Is there a percentage rating on the bottle?  The old unscented Regular Clorox was 6.0% and the kind sold in hardware stores was 6.5%.  The other 94% was mostly just water.

You can read more about the concentrated bleach in this thread (http://www.troublefreepool.com/concentrated-bleach-t52758.html).  As listed in this post (http://www.troublefreepool.com/concentrated-bleach-t52758.html#p435592), be sure to use regular unscented bleach and do not use the specialty bleaches or else you can get foaming and add things to the water that you do not want/need.
