Title: 2001 Landmark got power not heater or jets
Post by: ovfd16 on August 11, 2012, 10:46:22 am
I just picked up a 2001 Landmark and have it hooked up with power but I cannot get the heaters or the jets to run, the circulation pump is running, the display lights up, the power light is on as well. Help please my wife is counting on me having this done soon.

That spa is a 220 volt (only) tub, and requires TWO circuits. One feeds the heater only, and the other feeds everything else in the tub.

I believe the 30 AMP breaker will feed the heater, and the 20 AMP breaker will feed the rest - and these are two-pole breakers.

If you hook it up with a 110 power cord, you will get exactly what you described.

This is typically a 60amp two-pole breaker that feeds a sub-panel that then contains a 20 & 30amp breaker, right?  Just curious.

The book calls for a 50 amp breaker to feed the sub panel then a 30 amp to run the heater and a 20 amp to run the jets which I have. I have 220 at the tub across my legs, the heater light is on but not heating, and when I push the jet button it calls for the jets to come on on the display and the relay clicks but they do not come on. I think it is the relays on the board just seeing if anyone else has run into this.

Heater relay board is bad then, but I don't think that has anything to do with jets, so there could be two problems. Or it could just be wired incorrectly. Look on the label inside the cover for the IQ-2020. There are several wiring diagrams: use the one based on your model.

You should have the hots from the 30 on 1 and 3, the hots from the 20 on 2 and 4, and the neutral on 5. Does that sound correct?

Chas Thank you for your help I tried that but the board on my tub has been replaced so instead of five wires coming in I have six so the wiring diagrams don't match up, the second wire in from the left is a 10 awg black that goes down to the heater not back to the panel.

Still good - look closely and you will see that the second one is now "H2" and that is for the heater. The rest are the same - 30A on 1 and 3, 20A on 2 and 4, Neutral (from 20A breaker) on 5.
