Title: Very First Post
Post by: East_TX_Spa on November 04, 2005, 02:38:20 pm
What was your very first post on this forum?

Here's mine:

Well, I tried to go back and get it but I couldn't go past 425 posts.  Oh well, it went something like this:

"I'm a HotSpring Spa dealer in Longview, TX and I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now.  There is a lot of valuable information on here and I have gained a great deal of knowledge.  I probably won't have much to say on here but will check in from time to time."

Some 800+ posts later, I guess I still haven't said much.

Oh wiat...wrong forum....

Dear What's the best hot tub ...

First post? I don't think I can go back the 5 or 6 years to find it.

Furthest back is post #36;

Actually, I find it kinda funny how so many "SUPOSED" independent tests have been done, yet no one has EVER produced a copy of a single legetimate test.

Here's mine

just purchased a Beachcomber 750 floor model.  I assumed the Hush Pump came with it as all the BC tubs I was inquiring about had it, I just called and was informed that the tub I purchased did not have the Hush Pump.  The question I have is should I be concerned and how beneficial is the Hush pump really?

I was on the forum for awhile by this post just never asked a question till after I purchased, what a dumb ass I was...oh yeah still am

You must be clairvoyant!  No wonder you like playing poker so much, you definitely have an advantage.

Now I see why you're trying to get me to play.  I can't even read my own mind.  It'd be like taking candy from an unarmed baby. ;D

Hi all.

I would like to start by saying that I've been viewing the posts here for a few days now, and have gotten GREAT information!!!  Thanks to all, even though you didn't know you were helping.

Here is my problem.  I wet tested Jacuzzi 360, and I loved it until then.  I floated in almost ALL of the seats.   I have a wet test scheduled on an L.A. Spa HEET model for tomorrow.  I tried a search on it, and can't find any info.  Anyone have any thoughts?  Also looking at Sundance Altamar.  The dealer sold the one off the floor, so have to wait until they get another to wet test it.  They have an Optima available to test, but it is bigger than I want, and I would rather test the model I would buy.  Any thoughts on the floating issue with the Altamar?  I don't have many other options to choose from, so I wanted to hear your thoughts.

BTW thanks for encouraging people to wet test.  I would NEVER have dreamed of getting in a spa on the floor!!!  But it was worth it, or I would have bought the Jacuzzi, and I would have regretted it!!!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, and time.

And #1 for da terminaator;

 on: 12/08/04 at 3:18pm
Hello!

I wanted to introduce myself.  I'm the Branch Manager of a HS dealer in Longview, TX (northeast near the Louisiana border).  We have 4 stores in E. Texas and Shreveport, LA.  We have sold Watkins products exclusively for 20 years and are a spa dealer only.  No pools, billiards, furniture, etc.

I ran across this board a few weeks ago and have found some invaluable information from many of the members.  It has been a real eye-opener to go back and read most of the relevant posts here and has helped me in my sales presentations of late.

I probably won't have a great deal to say on here but I will be checking the board daily.  If I can be of service to anyone, please feel free to give me a holler.

Thanks!

Chris O.

Too long ago to remember, I sure it was some sort of pro Jacuzzi or anti ozone comment though. Whew, how life tosses us around?!?

He's still around. Every once in a while someone mentions his name on Doc's site and a couple of days latter you'll see a post from him pop up. I think KL Enterprises is stil an entity also, if Kens lurking, he'll correct me if I'm wrong.

Doc, how did you track the first post? I must have done it the hard way....I found some early posts of mine....some were a little embarassing.

When the store I was at changed from Beachcomber to Dimension1 I bought everything the reps told me, hook line and sinker (not that it was all false, just some of the "exclusive" or "only" statements).

When I got challenged on some of it here it really openned my eyes and fed my desire to research and understand more than what my sales reps were telling me.

Only takes about 10 seconds to look up... You want me to reveal some of my secrets? You must be kidding!

Well. all right. Click on a posters name. Scroll down and where is says "Show the last  10 posts of this person", change the "10" to all

Cool. Thanks Doc.

My first post:
It is quite amusing seeing these comments on the recall(s). Maax never did "manufacture" a heater. If there is ever a recall from a component manufacturer, it likely affects multiple manufacturers. I can name a dozen manufacturers that use WaterWay power storm jets. Since there introduction to the market in 2000-2001 there have been five revisions. For me to say the Beachcomber or Arctic or Hydro-Pool had a jet recall would be asinine. Sounds like a jealous competitor bashing!

My first post wasnt that long ago.  We had a calspa and then gave it back.  I have learned alot on this site.  I did everything wrong the first time I bought.  I feel fortunate now, that the dealer was a complete crook and I got a second chance at buying my second spa the right way.  Thanks everyone.

(here's my post)

Ok, I will admit im a spa newbie so these questions im sure will appear basic.  We have had our spa now for almost 2 weeks.  The first couple of days were great and then our teenager with a couple of friends got in, Im sure they didnt rinse and one had on jean shorts with a t-shirt.
I have read enough to know that this could possibly be the reason we have foam and bubbles.  I can deal with that.  I'll drain the spa and refill it this weekend.  No big deal.  Is this the proper thing to do?

Second, when I have it drained Im going to wash it down.  What product do any of you recommend.  A spa dealer in town said to just use Windex mixed with water...spray and wipe.  I have never heard of this.  Any input?
BTW we use it every night.  We love it!!

Wow! That was many, many posts ago....

Actually my first post on the forum was not by me but quoted off of spasearch by someone else. It turned into a debate between Chas and myself with someone named Gerry jumping in like a yapping dog.

zz emailed me, introduced himself and invited me to the forum low and behold look what has become of all that.

ZZ, I owe you many sleepless nights!! ;) BTW, where is he?

Here is the debate....

Now that the Members thing is working again, I just looked up my first post.  It was about why Sundance doesn't chose to put Ozone in their spas as standard equipment.

Wow Doc!  Thanks for the pointer, I didn't realize it was that easy!  I was thinking I would have to go back to 2003 & just dig around!
