Title: Antimicrobial Hot Tub Filters
Post by: smackman on March 24, 2012, 07:38:00 pm
Are these Antimicrobial worth the extra money? My Hot Tub is only used by me and the wife 95% of the time. Just wondering what the Pros think....

No they are not.  All micrban does is inhibit the growth of bacteria on the filter media.  Really does nothing for the water in my opinion.

The only conceivable benefit to having anti-microbial filters would be extending the lifespan of the media itself. If it actually makes the filters last longer, there may be some benefit- but you really wouldnt know unless you were able to compare them with standard spun-bonded polyester filter cartridges.
