Title: First Time Buyer of Hot Tub
Post by: rolltide on May 22, 2004, 11:35:03 am
I am looking for my first hot tub and the dealer I am currently working with sells Cal Spa.  What kind of reputation does Cal Spa have in the industry?

most of what I have read about CalSpas is negative...

Find you a dealer for Sundance, hot Spring, Marquis, Caldera and Dimension 1.

p.s.  How bad of a beat down is LSU going to put on the Crimson Tide this year... ;)

Thanks for the advice.  How about Beachcomber?  The dealer also sells Beachcomber?

Regarding the Cajuns, LSU will be tough again this year.  The Tide is still rebuilding but we will be back!

I would regard Beachcomber as one of the top brands. Part of the big six. The other five were noted by Cajun Mike.

And if you have any questions about Beachcomber, Steve who frequents this board is a dealer from Alberta, Canada and can answer pretty much anything on them.

Cal Spa is huge in our area (Minneapolis).  I know a couple of people who own them, and they have no complaints.  Seems the bad posts I've read about the company have to do with their warranty.

Thanks for all the feedback.  I'll check out Beechcomber.  There is also a Hot Spring dealer near by and I'll take a look at their line.

Beachcomber makes a very good product.  I personally have the 740 and absolutely love it.  Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you with your shopping.

Thanks.  I took a  look at a HotSpring Grandee today. Nice unit and it appears from all the postings that HotSpring is a reliable spa.

Cal spa sells with flash and has a poor rep. Hot Spring is just the opposite.

You might also want to try Marquis, D-1 or caldera as they are all in the same class as hot spring.  High on hydrotherapy, quality and rep, low on the glitz and glamour.

Move on.  There are much better.
Have a look at Beachcomber, Marquis, Caldera, Hotsprings, Sundance and Dimension1.
