Tonight, my bride of 40 years and I were relaxing in the tub. The outside temp was 45 degrees and the tub was at 100 degrees. The sky was crystal clear, with stars everywhere. We both had a glass of wine and life was great. Unexpectedly, what apeared to be whispy white clouds started to appear trailing north to south. The strange thing was that the "clouds" seemed to visually drift in and out. Then the "clouds" started changing color. It was then that we realized that we were experiencing the Northern Lights.

I was surprised to see it on the World News and find out that it was seen as far south as southern Tennesee. I'm in northern Michigan (20 miles south of the 45th parallel) and although not an every day event, it happens here every year or two. I'm guessing that a lot of tubbers, who don't post here, saw it too.
