Title: The light is tripping our electrics

Had a problem with our Artic spa tripping our house plug electrics, by process of pressing each button on control panel of the tub, and the lights are the problem.  However the first time it tripped in the middle of the night the lights would not have been on, strange.

Is this a costly thing to repair?  We have got someone coming out on Wednesday to look at it.

Did it trip a circuit breaker or a GFCI? There's a big difference.

it tripped the RCD on the consumer unit in our garage where all our house electrics are.
