we just got the tub a couple days ago
my husband had the water tested and we are all set
two days ago when we went in the tub their was a sticky brownish line where the water line is
my husband thinks its sticky stuff from the packaging of the spa. it came off with a napkin
we didn't go in the spa yesterday or today because its super muddy and the trench is still there from the electirician(coming to final inspection on monday)
anyone else have that?

That line is probably from some lubricants left over from the manufacture of your pump. It is fairly common in new tubs. Adding some enzymes to the water should clear it up. Enzymes are also used to eradicate body oils and suntan lotion.

???????????????????
There are no lubricants use in a pump that would ever come in contact with the water.

I notice that when I use "Spa Perfect", which is a natural cleaner, that is tan in color, it leaves a tan ring around the tub. I just wipe it off and move along. No problem. Could it be something you are adding to the water?

My guess is residual soap scum from clothing, deodorants from your body. Do you use any moisturizers? Are you letting your hair get in the water?

I didn't mean to imply that it was a pump lubricant. Any time that metal parts are machined, lubricants are used to cool the cutting tools. That residual mechining oil could be coming off of any metal part in the tub. I had the same brown line in my tub before anyone ever used it. (The tub came straight from the manufacturer and the dealer never filled it prior to delivery.)

we hadn't been in the tub when we saw it
it was when we first went in it
we put the start up chemicals, waited the right time and went in and saw it

WHAT chemicals are you using?
