Title: Mold under tub?
Post by: sorebikr on July 08, 2011, 03:00:01 pm
I was informed that my house's location is a tough spot  when it comes to mold.  And that if the tub was placed directly on the cement pad, that I would have some serious mold issues between the tub and pad.  Thoughts?  Would sealing/caulking around the edges of the tub be a good solution?

I'll admit that I have NO experience with mold issues, but I know that there are a lot of chemical, long term solutions to the problem.  Any copper based solution (cuprnol), applied to to the cement will impede the growth of mold/moss and a lot of other nasty stuff (mushrooms).  Sealing or caulking would probably make the problem worse.
