Title: Question about leaving tub empty for the winter.
Post by: gpfu08 on September 30, 2009, 11:29:25 am
I am going to empty the my tub for the winter and maybe longer. My question is there anything i should or need to do besides empty the water out?

Should i add chemicals or something like that?

My method is to:

Drain the spa.
Use a shop vac to suck water out of all openings - this can take some time.
I then put a dish in the bottom and open a large box of baking soda and place it on the dish - this will help with musty smell.
Some people like to winterize with solutions.
The key with my way is to suck as much water out as possible !!

I leave mine empty all summer and only keep it filled in the winter...
thanks for the baking soda idea....I am going to try that next summer.

Howdy Boni!.....

Just been working/traveling/college football watching....
I check in every so often....message board has been kind of slow...
not sure why but it seems like the change to the new format
hurt attendence?...But once the economy recovers things should
pick back up.

How have you been?
